Program 2025

You see the program for 2025 of the “Museumsverein Messel”.

All talks will be held in German but the lecturers are willing to explain details in English.

Exhibition “FLORAL WORLD” from Petra Vogel

On Friday, May 9, 2025, starting at 6 p.m., the Messel Fossil and Local History Museum will host the opening of an exhibition entitled “FLORAL WORLD”. Petra Vogel will present botanical paintings created almost exclusively with artist’s colored pencils.

… tells you about the 48 million year old fossils that were found here in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, about a special way of extracting mineral oil from the lake deposits and the fight of the citizens of Messel against the construction of a garbage dump.
