Exhibition of Ole Kleffmann: STILL ALIVE – Our Threatened Wildlife

Exhibition: STILL ALIVE – Our Threatened Wildlife.

From September 4 to October 25, 2026, the Messel Fossil and Local History Museum will present an exhibition on the subject of species extinction during its opening hours (Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Many animal species are currently endangered due to habitat loss, pesticides, and climate change. Using pastel chalk and ink, Darmstadt-based artist Ole Kleffmann portrays 21 threatened native animal species in striking images. Fact sheets – covering everything from mammals and birds as well as amphibians and insects – provide information on their lifestyles and the specific threats they face.

The exhibition opening will take place on September 4, 2026, at 7 p.m. at the museum (Langgasse 2, Messel).
