Tree for the museum association

We couldn’t celebrate our 40th anniversary of the museum, but we planted a tree. It is located at the Heimkehrerplatz in Messel. 

If you walk about 30 meters to the east, you will see our oak tree on the left.

… tells you about the 48 million year old fossils that were found here in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, about a special way of extracting mineral oil from the lake deposits and the fight of the citizens of Messel against the construction of a garbage dump.
